A FREE, exclusive Jack Johnson download and the Kokua Festival 2010 – Two more reasons to look forward to Earth Day!
“We are proud to be a sponsor of the 2010 Kokua Festival and to support the Kokua Hawaii Foundation.
The Kokua Festival is hosted by Hawaii’s own Jack Johnson and takes place Earth Day weekend – Friday, April 23rd and Saturday, April 24th – at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Jack Johnson will be sharing the stage with Ziggy Marley, Taj Mahal & The Hula Blues Band, Jake Shimabukuro, and Anuhea.
All proceeds from the Festival benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation – a non-profit founded by Jack Johnson to support environmental education programs in Hawaii schools and communities. (Including ‘AINA In Schools – a farm-to-school program dedicated to connecting children to their land, waters and food in order to grow a healthier future for Hawaii.)
Beyond the music, the Kokua Festival features over 50 booths with eco-friendly clothing, natural food products, alternative energy demonstrations and, of course, lots and lots of Stonyfield organic yogurt.
The festival also boasts an innovative list of greening measures, including: bike valet, biodegradable concession-ware, zero waste collection sites and more.
Can’t make it to Hawaii? We’ve got a way our Stonyfield Fans can still hear the great music and it’s coming soon!
Stay tuned to our Facebook Page for an exclusive, free Jack Johnson download.”
* Lighten up! Enter our Share the Organic Difference Recipe Contest!
“There are hundreds of ways — okay, maybe thousands — to use Stonyfield Organic Yogurt or Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt while cooking. We’re talking dips, casseroles, pasta, breads and oh-so-many more.
April’s issue of Rachael Ray Magazine kicks off our Share the Organic Difference recipe contest.
The top 5 recipes will be featured in the magazine in August when they’ll be voted upon. The winning recipe (and chef!) will be featured in the magazine’s October issue.
So pull out that apron and get cookin’!”
* Brush (twice daily!) with a yogurt cup!
“Preserve, the leading recycled products company — and the folks who turn our yogurt cups into toothbrushes and razor handles — has announced the second year of Gimme 5 with new and returning partners: Stonyfield, Tom’s of Maine, Whole Foods Market, and Brita.
The program started in January 2009 and in its first year collected more than 45,000 pounds of materials, the equivalent of more than 2.9 million 6 oz. yogurt cups!
This year, the program expects to collect three to four times that volume of #5 plastic thanks to an expanded number of Gimme 5 drop-off locations at more than 200 Whole Foods Market stores across the nation.
