If you have been a reader of mine from the beginning you may have heard me mention my father. He was stricken with a vicious disease at the early age of 52. The doctors diagnosed him with dementia, but later they realized it was something much more and was unclear of what he really had. The disease ravaged his body and he was unable to speak or move for several years. He lost a considerable amount of weight and his once large and strong frame became fragile and weak. Today at the age of 72 years old he lost the battle and passed away. I’m heart broken and going to miss him terribly. The only thing that gives me any comfort is knowing he is no longer suffering and free. My Dad smiled very seldom since he was bedridden, but today at 9:43 a.m. he died with a smile on his face. I know where ever he is, he is finally happy.
I’ll miss you Dad!

I am so sad for both you and your family’s loss. I wish his last years wouldn’t have been a struggle for him and that his mind was clear. It’s hard to see your parents in such a condition, especially when it happens when they are still relatively young.
