State Farm Shotgun Contest! Enter To Win A $150 Best Buy & $100 Gas GC Here!

Calling “shotgun” first can not only earn you a spot in the passengers front seat, if your quick enough it could possibly win you a  NEW VEHICLE!  Starting today State Farm Insurance is turning the famous car game into a fun  promotion on their Facebook page to give fans a chance to win a BRAND NEW FORD FUSION HYBRID and Visa gift cards.  For ten consecutive days, five times per day, State Farm will publish a photo of a car through an application on the official State Farm Insurance Facebook page.    The first person to tag themselves (via a third party application) will be entered to win a hybrid car.  All other taggers will be automatically entered to win a $20 Visa gift card. Quickness and persistence is really going to pay off in this contest!  Are you up for the “shotgun” challenge?

Here is how it works!

First thing you need to do is “like” the State Farm Facebook page.  Next keep a close watch out daily from March 31-April 9  for a photo of a car that will be published at five random times throughout the day.  If you’re the first person to to call “Shotgun!” by tagging yourself on the car (via a third party application) you will be entered to win a Ford Fusion Hybrid.  Don’t be discouraged if your late and not the first to tag the photo!  There is going to be a total of 50 chances to be in the running for a brand new Ford Fusion Hybrid and just for playing your automatically entered to win a $20 Visa gift card.  Over 400 pre-paid cards will be distributed throughout the course of promotion, so keep  participating for more chances to win.

    We have a “car” bag that has toys/books ect that are only used in the car. That way there are always things to do and we don’t have to hunt for things to bring with us. Because they only get used in the car they don’t get old.

    I liked State Farm on FB. When I was a kid we’d pass the time by looking for each letter of the alphabet as the first letter on signs and whatnot that we passed. Taught that to my son to pass the time on long rides. I still do it silently when I’m bored to death on a long trip, now that DS is in college.

    My husband used to be a truck driver for a particular trucking line before he retired. My boys when they were younger would count the trucks and check out the driver to see if it was a friend of my husband’s/or my husband driving.
    They would keep track if they saw more of this specific trucking company’s trucks on the way to our destination or on the way back.

    When I was little we’d go on driving vacations and one game we’d play was finding license plates from different states. The one with the most states won. I don’t have any kids but did take my cousin on numerous vacations from the time she was 4 until she was 11 and we’d play the same game.

    you choose what the topic example restaurants
    A is for Applebee’s

    On long drives my dad used to just talk and talk and talk, pointing out everything he saw on the side of the road. We thought he was a bit crazy, but it turns out that he did it to keep himself awake. Now I do the same thing on family road trips!

We make up cards with each square representing one of the fifty states, and whoever spots a license plate with a given state gets to claim it and mark their board. It takes quite a long time for someone to win, so it’s a great time-filler to prevent boredom!

    I like the State Farm page. The only car games we ever played on trips was to make lists of things to watch for, such as a certain color and make of car or a brown cow or a hotel with a swimming pool. We still joke about the time I put “blue Toyota” on my mom’s list, and after a while, everything on everyone’s list was checked off except that blue Toyota, and we all looked for one for hours!
