In celebration of next Tuesday’s (3/29) release of TANGLED on Blu-ray & DVD, Disney would like to present you with this food for thought along with some fun Tangled activities, coloring sheets, recipes, and hair tips!
In the film, Mother Gothel (voiced by the lovely Donna Murphy) confines Rapunzel to a tower, telling her that it is for her own safety and protection. As a child, how many times did your parents tell you to simply trust in their judgment when deterring you from making a choice they did not agree with? As a parent, how many times have you tried to impart your wisdom to your child to spare them the pain of disappointment or failure?
A 70 foot tower might not be a viable option to protect children from the more difficult parts of life, and Mother Gothel might not have had the most selfless intentions, but the idea of a parent as a protector and guide for their child remains.
