ShopRite’s famous annual Can Can Sale, kicked off Thursday, January 5th and will run through Saturday, January 21st. In 2012, to bring awareness towards the ever-growing issue of hunger within our local neighborhoods, ShopRite will launch “Cans for Fans” – a program that makes it possible for ShopRite Facebook fans to become involved in ShopRite’s fight against hunger.
In 2011, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the legendary Can Can sale, ShopRite donated 40,000 cans of food to local food banks in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland and Delaware. This year, for every single fan on ShopRite’s official Facebook page, the company is set to donate one can of food- up to 50,000 cans, to local food banks in the Northeast.
So what are you waiting for? If you would like to join in on the fight against hunger in your community head to ShopRite on Facebook and “like” the official Facebook page. If you have a blog/website, please help spread the word about “Cans for Fans” by sharing ShopRite’s official Facebook page with your readers. The more “Likes” ShopRites receives, the more cans it will donate to those in need. It’s as simple as that!
One other way to get involved in the legendary Can Can Sale celebration is to visit ShopRite’s “Get Can Canned” website, where you have the opportunity to become a ShopRite Can Can dancer by uploading a photo of your face which will be placed on the animated dancer’s body. The image can be emailed to friends, shared via your personal blog, Facebook or Twitter account, or posted to ShopRite’s official Facebook page.
