With just one month to go before the first day of spring, much of the nation’s frosty weather is receding and the “Polar Vortex” is just a cold memory. And that’s good news for those of us who are very ready for a new season and the promise of warmer weather.
Spring Maintenance Tips
To prevent homeownership woes, Ambit Energy has identified a few helpful tips to help homes recover from an extremely cold winter and prepare for the new challenges of spring:
- Exterior Efforts – Winter has inflicted plenty of wear and tear on your home and spring rains are about to bring more. Give your house a walk around and check the caulking around windows and doors to ensure they are watertight. Inspect your roof for broken shingles or tiles to prevent leaks.
- Get in the Gutter – Make sure your gutters are clean and draining properly so you don’t have excess water dripping into your foundation.
- Check your HVAC – Now is a good time to make sure your air conditioning system is in good shape before summer hits. Routine maintenance saves energy and can prevent those excessive repair bills.

Great tips! We our currently fixing one side of our house where a windy storm tore off the gutter, so now when it rains it gets a lot of water right by the house, which is bad for the foundation. So we are in the process of fixing it now. Its a pain to do these fixes sometimes but they are needed.
