Now that the kids are on summer break, how do you plan on connecting with them? Why not sit down and share one of your favorite childhood shows with them! It is a good way for them to get a glimpse of what you were like as a kid and for you to relive a bit of your childhood. Netflix has plenty of cartoons to bond over, including the new Netflix original series Inspector Gadget and Danger Mouse. The awesome thing is the old-school classics we all grew up are more popular than ever with some of them offering new reboots of the shows featuring our most favorite characters.

Personally, I could not get enough of Scooby-Doo and the Smurfs when I was a youngster! A fun childhood memory was getting up early on Saturday morning to toon into watching the Smurfs outwit the evil Gargamel and his cat Azrael. I was 11 years old when the Smurfs were introduced in 1981 and I love to watch old episodes with my son today. It is just one of those fun things to do as a mom and an entertaining means of escaping the tasks of everyday life for a few minutes with my son. Kids grow so fast and it’s important to take time out to create a strong bond when they are younger that continues throughout adulthood!
