If you love working out and staying fit, you owe it to yourself to fit it into your daily schedule. But there’s a problem there because, as I’m sure you’re aware, being a mom takes most of your time. As soon as you have kids, you might find that the time you used to spend exercising is taken by their needs. It’s easy to fall out of shape as a mom. You start to see yourself putting on weight and slowly but surely, your high level of physical fitness slips away. But, you don’t have to give up, and there are plenty of options for staying in shape, even when you have a full schedule.
Turn It Into Your Career
Perhaps the best way to stay on top your fitness is to make sure it’s not just part of your life, it’s the center of it. To do that, you need to consider turning it into your career. You can work to become a personal trainer or a fitness instructor. That means, while your kids are at school you can work out and make some money at the same time. To get started on this career path, you should look at fitness courses online. By taking one, you can learn how to teach physical fitness and build up a following. The best part is that for most of the time, you can run a class like this from home. You won’t need to be away from your children and you can still be there from them. You can treat it like any other nine to five job. Except, rather than sitting at a desk, you’ll be working up a sweat. By doing this, you’re guaranteed to stay in shape as a mom.
Workout With Your Kids
Alternatively, you may want to think about encouraging your kids to work out with you. You could start arranging weekend activities such as bike rides and hillwalking. It’s great to encourage your kids to stay active, and you’ll be getting your own workout at the same time. You’ll also be spending quality time with a family and forming connections with your children. Don’t forget, it doesn’t have to be strenuous fitness activities. Even climbing up a hill will keep you in fighting shape.
Get Active In School
Another possibility of staying active is to get involved in school activities. There are always sports teams in school that look to parents to help coaching or running tournaments. You can do this and again, it will help you stay active. It’s all about staying on the go. If you’re stuck at home all day, every day you’ve already lost the battle.
Arrange Activities With Friends
Finally, it’s easier to stay in shape and stay fit if you have other people around you with the same goals. That’s why you should think about getting your friends involved. You can arrange weekly gym visits, yoga classes or anything else that springs to mind. Since you’ll be in a group, you can make sure you never fall behind with your goals.

Oh, I wish I was as fit as the woman in that picture, lol. I’m trying to get in better shape, but I’m a long way from fit!

I love this post! As a huge fitness advocated myself, it’s always refreshing to see other mamas out there on their health grind and making a difference for themselves. I’ve always said that you can’t be the best mom if you’re not yet the best version of yourself. I have an outstanding weekly gym date with a group of my girlfriends, and we don’t stop working out until we can’t move…definitely regret it the next day when you’re holding the baby though. Refreshing post!
