Remember when you spent hours shopping at the mall? Trying out different hairstyles? Or spending the evening applying a perfect coat of Essie’s ‘Ballet Slipper’ to each fingernail to achieve a glossy French manicure? Becoming a SAHM or stay at home mother isn’t easy, in fact, it’s probably the hardest, yet unpaid, job a woman can do. It’s during those first few days of motherhood when you’ve barely had time to sleep, let alone shower that you realize your wardrobe may look slightly different from now on!
The School Run
While it would be overwhelmingly tempting to rock up at the school gates in a onesie, or better yet your pajamas sadly only kids can get away with wearing their nightwear outside. Before you begin the morning routine make sure that you’ve got yourself ready. Shower, then pop on a cute top, or shirt and pair it with skinny jeans, a slim belt, and ballet flats as well as taking a heavier cardigan or light jacket if it’s chilly out. Keep it casual with some stud earrings; you can get some fantastic deals and discounts on fashion at http://www.pluscodepromo.fr/reductions-code-promo-blanche-porte.html. Match earrings to a gold, or silver bracelet or a dangly necklace as you don’t need to make too much effort. Don’t worry if you’ve not managed to sort your hair yet, just sweep it into a messy up do, add a few bobby pins and voila! You’re ready to leave the house.
Parent Teacher Evening
Your outfit should be semi-professional, or formal as no matter what grade your child’s in you want to give off a good impression. Parents that turn up looking like they’ve just rolled out of bed, or in from a night out on the tiles just don’t look as if they care much about their kid’s education. It’s great to look well dressed but don’t overdo it as you don’t want Sierra’s teacher to think you’re about to lead a corporate takeover! Keep things simple with a pretty top, and skirt or a mid-length day dress paired with kitten heels, sandals or ankle boots. Depending on the time of year you may also want to wear tights and take a jacket. Schools can, at times, be quite cold especially the hallways. Try not to wear anything too flashy or revealing as you don’t want to distract the teacher or any of the other parents that are present.
Date Night
You might be a mom, but you’re also a girlfriend or wife so don’t forget to give your LBD or classy silk jumpsuit an outing once in awhile. Wear your prettiest jewelry, such as earrings your husband bought you for your birthday and plump for a dark smoky eye and raspberry lip. Want to experiment? Look for makeup looks that can be achieved quickly if you’re short on time. Tonight’s the night to wear your favorite pre-baby stilettos, or high wedges as well as having your hair styled in a departure from your usual look. If you usually wear it down, clip it up, and vice versa but whatever you do make sure it’s been professionally cut, colored and styled a few days beforehand.

These are three good sets of tips for looking great. But can we be honest & admit that at some point every Mom has done the school run in her jammies & robe, lol. (I’m not a Mom, but I remember a few mornings when we overslept & my Mom just threw on her robe & rushed us to school!–(And I’m sure she prayed she got home without seeing anyone she knew!!)
