When you become a mom, your priorities shift. Your life, and your appearance slide down your list of what’s important. Once, you were the center of your universe. Now, nothing is about you. But, what if it’s possible to embrace motherhood, and still keep some sense of yourself? There’s a lot of focus on ditching the mom gear, but some of us don’t want to go that far. In fact, we’re quite happy with our image as a mom. That is who we are now. It’s our proudest achievement and our top priority. But, it would also be nice to do the mom thing is a stylish way. We may be mom’s, but we haven’t lost our sense of style! The good news is, it’s possible to stay stylish. Read on to find out how!
EASY TO WEAR CLOTHES THAT LOOK GOOD
Since your kids came along, chances are you’ve thrown on any old thing. When you have youngsters, you’ll soon get messy anyway. But, it’s possible to find comfortable clothes that look amazing. All you need to do is search around. There’s no better time for easy to wear clothes than summer, so you’ve chosen the right time. Stock up on hareem trousers. There are loads in the shop, and some have fantastic patterns. It doesn’t get much more comfortable. There are some beautiful loose fitted tops out there, too. They’re easy to slip on, and they can look amazing!
CARRY EVERYTHING…IN A STYLISH BAG
As a mom, you have a lot to carry. Depending on how old your kids are, you’ll be lugging around food, nappies, and the kitchen sink. Even as they age, you need to take along drinks, snacks, and tissues. You are the mom machine! But, heavy nappy bags are not a good look. The good news is, there are plenty of larger bags that look more stylish. You could opt for a woven leather bag, or a brightly colored choice. Instead of looking in the mom section, look at designer selections. Make sure to consider what the storage space is like inside your bag, though. You don’t want to find out that you don’t have room for everything!
EMBRACE THE NO MAKEUP LOOK
Okay, you may be dead set against this point. But, hear us out. Your time is limited now, and makeup is one thing you could do without. There’s a small part of most women that wishes she could do away with makeup, anyway. Now could be the perfect time to embrace the no makeup look. Or, to develop a minimal makeup style that doesn’t take as long. Learn to love you for you. Say goodbye to hours in front of the mirror. Spend them with your kids instead.
We’re not going to lie; these changes are not going to take you back to the life you had before. Nor should they. Everything is different now, and everything will always be different. But, it’s time to embrace your new role in style!
