When you become a Mom, you can often feel the pressure to care less about yourself and the way you look. For some reason, caring about the way you look can lead some people to feel as if you put yourself before your children. Which, as well know, is not only a silly accusation to make, it’s also unproductive. As a woman, you should be able to dress in any way that you feel best. So if you want to look good, feel good and continue with your love of style when you’re a Mom, go ahead! And if you’re struggling to find style inspiration in life as a Mom, these ideas should help.
On The School Run
It always seems that there are two kinds of carpool Moms. The ones in pajamas that drop their kids off and speed off, and the ones that are put together and show that off. But, it doesn’t mean that you have to fit into either extreme profile. You can be quite comfortable in the middle – dressed and feeling good, but not over the top. If you’re a fashion conscious Mom, now’s the time to wear your jeans and tees and pretty summer dressers. The easier the styling, the better.
At Baby Club
If you’re a Mom of a baby or toddler, you might be involved in lots of Mommy and Me groups. Here, you may feel a lot of pressure from other Moms, but don’t let that put you off. You’re still welcome to feel like yourself and dress as you please, even if others don’t feel like they can. Because you’re going to be quite active with your little one, you might want to focus on function and then fashion. But you also don’t have to rock up sweats. Cargo pants, denim cut offs and cute blouses can look incredible and still be practical.
At A Fundraiser
When you’re not used to be confident with what you wear, you can often struggle when it comes to dressing for occasions. But, if that fashionista is still in there someone, now is her time to shine. At galas, fundraisers and other charitable family events, there’s no need to feel ashamed. Instead, let your hair done and have fun wit what you wear. A killer evening gown is what you want here. So pic out something you love and wear it with a smile.
At The PTA
Being involved with the PTA can be very rewarding. But, you can often feel pressure to represent your well. Other mothers can be quite judgmental, so it’s likely that you’re going to want to look respectable, but not too over the top. This is where strong classic separates, like the trendy collection of Ruby Rd clothing, come in. Not only will you feel comfortable and put together, but you’ll also feel it too.
On The Weekends
At the weekend, you might want to live a little. Whether you have date night planned with your husband, a dinner with friends, or even just casual times with your kids, the weekends are the time when you can let yourself go. If you want to wear sweats, wear them. If you want to go black tie, do it. The weekends are all about working with your own style and finding your feet with fashion again.

I’m in my mid-50’s now and find that although I care what others think, I don’t care enough to not be true to myself. I want to be comfortable while still looking stylish. I’m most comfortable in my Lucky jeans and GoWalk sneakers, which I can dress up or down. Lol. I will wear some ballet flats with my jeans when I’m dressing up more. There are times I dress up more and have the clothes to do it, but if I could I’d always be in jeans.
