A giant shout out of thanks going out to Chef Gary LeBlanc of Mercy Chefs! Thank you for being who you are and dedicating your time to help those in need! It is truly people like you in America that makes this country the best place to live…even when there is a devastating crisis like what is happening in Texas! Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey!
“Only an ocean could handle the amount of water and rain that was dumped into this city. I thought New Orleans would always hold the image of an American city swimming for its life, but Houston has taken its place. The nation’s fourth largest city is now facing total ruin. This is a crisis like no one has ever seen, and those, who have haven’t lived to talk about it.
Days ago, I said that this would be the worst storm Mercy Chefs had ever faced. I wish so badly that I had been wrong. Already, we are seeing images of interstate underpasses covered in water, of homes with barely a rooftop poking through, of people awaiting rescue, chest high in water, many just floating by on whatever they have. Helicopters are plucking families from rooftops and rescue crews in flat boats pulling people from their flooded cars. I am here in Texas looking at the devastation, and I don’t want to know what this is going to look like after once the rain ends.”
