CBD: It seems to be everywhere.
As moms, we might not get out a lot, but still — you’ve probably seen CBD oil for sale in your local health store, or maybe you’ve noticed a CBD-infused beverage in some hip cafe.
Maybe you’re already well-acquainted with the potential benefits of CBD, you’ve got some CBD oil on hand, and now you’re ready to start using CBD oil for cooking.
Or maybe you’re still not even sure what CBD is, and you just want to know more about it and why people are using it.
Either way, we’ve got you covered here — we’ll start with some background information about CBD oil and its health benefits, before sharing 8 delicious CBD oil recipes with you, all of which can be made in less than an hour!
What Is CBD Oil?
First of all, what it’s not: although CBD is derived from the cannabis plant, CBD is not the same as straight-up marijuana.
CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is a cannabinoid (a naturally-occurring chemical compound) from the cannabis plant. While different types of cannabinoids are present in lots of other plants, CBD is only found in cannabis.
CBD is not THC, and CBD oils should not contain THC. THC is the psychoactive compound in marijuana — it’s the part of the plant that makes you feel “high.”
So, CBD can’t make you high.
What Are the Benefits of Cooking with CBD Oil?
So, why are people so excited about CBD?
Basically, a growing amount of research is suggesting that CBD oil may offer numerous health benefits. CBD is commonly used for pain relief or reduction of anxiety and depression.
This update in cannabis research suggests that CBD may inhibit the development of schizophrenia, may improve cognitive function, and may protect the stomach from alcohol.
And although CBD vape pens, CBD gummies, and CBD-infused coffees are all popular products, not everyone wants to get their CBD oil that way.
Many people prefer cooking with CBD oil, as it gives them more control over the amount of CBD they are consuming as well as the other ingredients in the recipe.
A quick note on terminology: Some of these recipes call for CBD oil while some of them call for CBD isolate. The “isolate” part just refers to the pure CBD content of the product (whether it is in oil or powder form).
Check with your CBD supplier to know if your CBD product is considered full-spectrum CBD or isolate.
Is CBD Safe for Children?
The World Health Organization does consider CBD to be safe and effective, but at this point in time, there have been very few CBD studies on children.
No need to stress if your kids steal a sip of your CBD smoothie in the morning, and you can feel safe sharing most of these recipes with your children (with the exception of that cocktail at the end!)
However, you’ll want to talk to a doctor or medical professional before you start regularly or heavily dosing your kids with CBD.
Now that we’ve covered all that… let’s start cooking with CBD oil recipes!
CBD Oil Recipes
We’re going to divide this list into three categories: the savory, the sweet, and the drinkable.
Savory Snacks and Entrees
We’ll start our list off with some savory foods!
The jalapeño poppers below make a great appetizer or party snack, while the pasta works well for a dinner entree.
#1: CBD-Infused Jalapeño Poppers
Preparation Time: 15-20 minutes
Servings: 20 jalapeño poppers
Ingredients:
- .2 grams CBD isolate
- 10 jalapeño peppers
- 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- 8 oz jack cheese, shredded
- 1 package crescent rolls
- 2 eggs, beaten
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°F.
On a chopping board, chop your jalapeño peppers in half length-wise.
In a small mixing bowl, mix the cream cheese, jack cheese, and CBD isolate together. Once it’s all mixed up, stuff this cheese mixture into your jalapeño halves.
On a baking sheet, roll out your crescent rolls. Cut them in half lengthwise, then wrap these dough pieces around the jalapeño and cheese combo.
Use a food brush to brush the beaten egg on the dough before placing them on a baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Let cool, serve, and enjoy!
#2: CBD-Infused Chicken Alfredo Pasta
Everyone loves a good Alfredo pasta, but adding the CBD powder makes this one something special.
Preparation time: About 30-40 minutes
Servings: About 6
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1.5 pounds chicken
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
- .3 grams CBD isolate powder
- 16 ounces penne pasta
- 1/4 cup parsley
Directions:
Chicken: In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 tablespoon of butter. Add the chicken to the pan, along with a half teaspoon each of salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Cook on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until chicken is fully cooked. Once cooked, set aside in a warm space.
Sauce: In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and 1 1/2 tablespoons of flour. Cook until the garlic begins to soften up, and then add the rest of the flower and the 2 cups of milk. Stir the mixture and add the other half teaspoon of salt pepper, oregano, and basil to the mixture.
Stir in a half cup of parmesan to the mixture until the cheese is melted. Finally, add in your CBD isolate powder, mixing until it is all dissolved.
Pasta: In a separate pan, bring water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add the pasta and reduce heat. Cook until the pasta is ready (about 8-10 minutes, depending on how well-cooked you like your pasta).
Putting it all together: Strain the pasta and pour it into a bowl. Add your sauce mix and cooked chicken. Add in that other half cup of parmesan cheese. Use the parsley as a garnish.
Serve and enjoy!
Simple Sweets

#3: Chia Cinnamon CBD Parfait with Hemp Milk
Although this parfait only takes about five minutes of prep time, for best taste and consistency, it does need to chill in a fridge for 6-8 hours.
Blend this up in the morning, and by lunchtime, you’ll have a refreshing dessert or sweet snack all ready to go!
Preparation Time: 5 minutes + 6-8 hours chill time
Servings: 2
Ingredients:
- 2 cups hemp milk
- 1/4 cup agave nectar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 gram CBD isolate powder
- 1/2 cup chia seeds
- Fresh fruit or berries
Directions:
Place all ingredients except the chia seeds into a blender and blend on high for about one minute, until the mixture is smooth.
Pour this mixture into a mixing bowl and whisk in your chia seeds. Whisk them thoroughly (about 1-2 minutes) to avoid seeds clumping up.
Pour the parfait mixture into 2 serving containers and let it chill in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours. The chia seeds will expand, thickening the mixture and giving it a pudding-like texture and consistency.
Once they’re chilled, top each cup with some fresh berries or fruit, and enjoy!
#4: CBD-Infused Honey Parfait
Want a parfait similar to the one above, but want it now?
Easily whipped up in a matter of moments, this simple, healthy parfait is a great breakfast-on-the-go for busy moms who are rushing out the door but don’t want to skip breakfast!

Servings: 1
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 10 mg CBD oil
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cup fresh berries or fruit
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
- Cinnamon
Directions:
In a small separate bowl, whisk the CBD oil into the honey.
If you are using strawberries or another larger fruit that you want to chop up, go ahead and chop those up on a clean cutting board.
Scoop the Greek yogurt into your serving bowl or your preferred to-go container. Add your fruit on top of the yogurt. Sprinkle on your chia seeds, and then drizzle the CBD-infused honey over it all.
Sprinkle on a dash of cinnamon on top of everything if you want to add some extra spice and color, grab a spoon, and go!
#5: CBD Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate chip cookie recipes are a dime a dozen, but these chocolate chip cookies have got a not-so-secret ingredient that makes them extra special. If you really want to take your cookie game up a level, try baking with CBD!
Preparation Time: 20 minutes (10 minutes prep time, 10 minutes bake time)
Servings: About 1 dozen cookies
Ingredients:
- 0.5oz unflavored CBD oil (approx. 14 grams)
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons hot water
- 3 cups flour
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
While the oven heats, mix the CBD oil with the white and brown sugar and the softened butter. Stir this mixture until smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until they’re fully blended with the batter. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate small bowl, dissolve the baking soda into the hot water. Then, combine the baking soda mixture with the cookie batter. Add salt. Stir in the flour, adding more or less until your desired cookie-batter consistency is reached.
Finally, stir in the chocolate chips!
Scoop dough in rounded balls onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes. Let cool before eating, and enjoy!
Variation: Learn how to make CBD butter and just mix some of that into the cookie batter. Plus, once you have the CBD butter on hand, you can then use it in other baked goods or any recipe that calls for butter!
