There might come a time when you have to consider assisted living or a nursing home. However, that time might not be tomorrow, next week, or within the next ten years if you can manage to stay healthy. Many older people suffer from depression, and this is partly because of their inability to leave their homes due to health issues. Think of this in two ways.
Firstly, if you are able to live an active lifestyle, you won’t be housebound in your later years. Secondly, if you sign up to any senior dance and fitness classes in your area, you will also have the opportunity to meet new people. You might then make new friends and gain more opportunities to enjoy life, and you will suffer less from the isolation and depression that affects so many people as they get older.
