While everyone has suffered during the Covid-19 pandemic, the children have suffered more than most. Schools have been closed for a long time and they haven’t been able to see their friends. On top of that, all the fun things that we can usually do with the children while they are off school have also been unavailable.
When restrictions are lifted and we are able to visit public places again, it might be a good idea to just have some good and traditional fun with the kids before they get back to their studies and back to school.
Some of the best things to do with children of all games include:
- Theme Parks
- Space Centers
- Aquariums
There’s so much fun to have at a theme park that they appeal to people of all ages while space centers can educate and inform as well as being fun and aquariums provide something a little different than a standard zoo as they specialize in marine life and might have some species you have never seen before.
Not Just The Magic Kingdom
It is possible that there is no greater family pastime than a visit to an amazing theme park. Many of these attractions are sprawling, mega-theme parks that you can’t even finish in one day, mostly due to their mind-boggling queue sizes. However, many of these parks have their own hotels so travelling state to state can make standard local theme park visits into unforgettable family Tennessee vacations, for example.
Obviously, everyone knows the super theme parks of Orlando, FL such as Disney World and Universal Studios, but America is dotted with hundreds of other theme parks across every state and region, including Puerto Rico. Ohio’s Cedar Point for example boasts one of the largest selections of roller coasters and almost 4 million visitors per year while Six Flags Great America attracts around 3 million people for its excellent young children’s area, tons of roller coasters, and massive water park.
The Pride of a Nation
Museums are well known for being educational and fun at the same time but specialized museums such as railway, boats, and space centers can be extra fun since they usually contain items that cannot be found anywhere else. Space centers, for example, will have genuine and authentic space vehicles, astronaut suits, and samples of rocks from other planets and the moon.
One of the most active space centers is Kennedy Space Center in Florida that to this day still undertakes active launches. One of the best attractions at KSC is their “Rocket Garden” that contains genuine space rockets and replicas of capsules from famous Apollo, Mercury, and Gemini projects.
Exotic Marine Life
While the traditional zoo is always a great day out for the children, with your money going to good animal causes, aquariums specialize in exotic marine life and can be a great alternative to the zoo. Most aquariums contain amazing displays of marine creatures inside specially designed tanks allowing you to get up close to animals such as whales, sharks, and turtles.
In addition, they offer guided tours and small animal petting zoos where children get close to and pet such creatures as starfish, squid, and rays. This can provide a learning experience not usually available at traditional zoos since marine life is typically more docile and therefore safe, and a child will never forget being so close to beautiful creatures.
