I’ve never heard of M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) and had to ask my husband about the series. When he told me it was like a mix of G.I Joe and Transformers, I knew my son was going to love it! The animated cartoon was extremely popular, debuted back in 1985 to 1986 and ran a total of 75 episodes. The M.A.S.K.: The Complete Original Series DVD box set contains the original 65 episodes and is missing Season’s 2 short lived 10 “racing series” episodes. The First episode “The Deathstone.”
I’ve included the first episode (borrowed from Veoh.com) in the series, so you can get an idea what the cartoon is like. In “The Deathstone” Venom steals a radioactive “life giving” meteorite using a helicopter (Switchblade) disguised as a ufo. It’s up to the M.A.S.K. team to get it back before the meteor’s powers can be used for evil.
