Get your engines running! Cars 2 is coming to Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray 3D, Movie Download and DVD 0n November 1, 2011. YEAH! CARS is one of my son’s favorite movies. He is a Cars-aholic! In fact, most boys I know, big or small, adore the film and love the games, toys, books, and other various products that help bring the characters to life.
Cars 2 begins in the middle of the rocky Pacific Ocean on Crabby the Boat, a cartoon version of Capt. Sig Hansen’s own blue and white Alaskan Crab Catcher Northwestern boat, seen on the “Deadliest Catch” on Discovery Channel. Crabby is transporting sports car Finn McMissile (voice by Michael Caine), a British master spy, on a mission to find a certain car. However, Crabby is threatened by Tony Trihull (voiced by Lloyd Sherr)) and is made to turn around after being threatened by a missile battery. Finn secretly hitches himself to the large combat ship, which brings him to the oil reserve. He soon discovers Professor Zundapp, an internationally wanted weapons designer, is concealing a sophisticated dangerous weapon disguised as a television camera and that Agent Leland Turbo had been destroyed. Shocked at the news, Finn omits a flame and the lemon cars are alerted to him being there. Professor Z knowing that Finn has now seen the camera orders for him to be killed. A high speed chase occurs and Finn looks like he jumps to his watery death, but cleverly escapes instead.
In the meanwhile, Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) is excited Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) is back from winning his fourth Piston Cup and can’t wait to spend a whole summer’s worth of best friend fun with him. After a days worth of dump truck tipping and other excitement planned by Mater, McQueen is looking to spend the night alone having supper with his girlfriend Miss Sally (Bonnie Hunt).
Just when McQueen thinks he is finally alone with Sally, Mater shows up at the restaurant as the waiter. Heading off to get the two lovebirds their usual drinks, Mater hears the Mel Dorado Show on the television in the bar. The program is featuring the former oil billionaire Miles Axlerod, a car that converted himself into an electric vehicle after running out of gas and being trapped in the wild. Miles has devoted his life to finding the renewable, clean-burning energy source of the future—ultimately discovering what he believes is the fuel everyone should be using. To show off his new super fuel named Allinol, Miles creates the World Grand Prix. a three country race that attracts the world’s top athletes. He believes after everyone sees what Allinol can do at the World Grand Prix nobody will go back to using gasoline. Next Mater hears Francesco Bernoulli (voiced by John Turturro) challenging McQueen, saying he is no match for him. Mater gets mad and calls the program defending McQueen. However, McQueen overhears the conversation and Francesco insulting Mater. He gets upset and decides to settle the feud at the races.
McQueen and Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. Mater embarrasses Lightning McQueen with his antics in Japan and gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own ; international espionage!
Cars 2 reminds me of a kind of cartoon version of a James Bond movie with plenty of special agents, cool gadgets, and rockets. My son loved it and at several times during the movie actually laughed out load. Nevertheless, the cars constantly trying to kill one another and shootings could be potentially exceedingly violent for real young audiences. I recommend you watch it first before you allow your child under age 4 to view it.

Acclaimed actor Michael Caine makes his Pixar debut as Finn McMissile, a top British spy who mistakes Mater for an undercover American agent with a genius disguise. Emily Mortimer brings charm, cleverness and cachet as Holley Shiftwell, a rookie field spy who knows every trick in the manual. Versatile actor John Turturro gives a free-wheeling performance as Francesco Bernoulli, the world-renowned Italian racing champ who is Lightning’s chief rival. Tony Shalhoub, Joe Mantegna, Peter Jacobson, Jason Isaacs, Eddie Izzard, Paul Dooley, Cheech Marin, John Ratzenberger, Franco Nero and Vanessa Redgrave also lend their vocal talents.
