With a wicked spell that turns back the clock, she erases the Prince’s memories of the girl he met at the ball and shatters Cinderella’s happily ever after! Jaq and Gus scurry to save the day before time runs out. But was it all really just a dream in Cinderella’s heart, or will true love triumph over all?

My Thoughts

My family received a 2- Movie Collection Special Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack of Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and Cinderella III: A Twist In Time. The original Cinderella is one of my all-time favorite movies from Disney, so I was super excited to see these two films for the first time in stunning high definition.

With a little help from the Fairy Godmother, Cinderella II features 74 minutes of three heartwarming tales. The first opening story, “The First Day In Castle,” explores what happened right after Cinderella and the Prince got married. Cinderella returns from her honeymoon to discover she doesn’t know the first thing about being a princess and is expected to plan the royal banquet. Prudence helps prepare her for the royal task, but Cinderella soon learns the best way to get the job done is to follow her heart and be herself. The second tale is about Jaq-Jaq and how he felt so left out he wanted to be human. Not liking to be small and a mouse, with a little wave of the Fairy Godmother’s wand, Jaq gets his wish and is turned into a man. The final story tells how Cinderella helps Anastasia find true love.

In Cinderella III, another 74 minutes of uplifting entertainment, the movie tells how Lady Tremaine, with a bit of help from Anastasia, gets her evil scheming hands on the Fairy Godmother’s wand and turns back time to unravel Cinderella’s “happily ever after.” The clock returns to the day of the fitting of the glass slipper giving her daughter a second chance at becoming the next princess. During the fitting, Lady Tremaine with a quiet and sneaky “Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo,” enlarges the glass slipper to fit Anastasia’s large foot declaring her the Prince’s bride-to-be. Now Cinderella must find a way to win back the heart of the Prince.

Both movies were extremely charming, but of course don’t compare to the magic of the original in my honest opinion. However, with that being said, we still enormously enjoyed the films anyways and they make a wonderful addition to our ever growing Disney DVD library. Snatch these two treasure tales up now before Disney closes its vault and the titles become hard to find!
