You know how I’m always harping on saving money and energy by switching to to compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs? Well the Energy Optimization participating utilities are also spreading the “green” message and helping consumers make the switch by GIVING THE BULBS AWAY! No joke, they are giving them away for free!
Energy Optimization announced today that each residential customer (in the Michigan participating areas) is eligible for nine FREE CFLs. To receive the free bulbs, you can visit Michigan-energy.org, select your utility provider, and click on the FREE CFL icon. Then simply enter your electric account number, name, phone number and the promotion code CFL80. The free package of bulbs will be shipped directly to the service address on your electric bill in six to eight weeks.
Participating electric providers include: Alger Delta Co-op Electric Association, City of Escanaba, Cloverland Electric Co-op, Great Lakes Energy Co-op, HomeWorks Tri-County Electric Co-op, Marquette Board of Power & Light, Midwest Energy Co-op, Ontonagon County REA, Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op and Thumb Electric Co-op.

Why switch from incandescent bulbs to compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs?
